Welcome to Car Hire Wales. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and vehicle rental offerings. By engaging with our services, you agree to these terms.
Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals in Wales are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or during vehicle collection. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To hire a vehicle in Wales, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for those under 25. A valid, full driving licence for the relevant vehicle category is required, held for the duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, drivers must present valid identification and proof of their current address. Payment information and a security deposit must also be provided, along with any other criteria detailed in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our designated locations in Wales. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment along with a security deposit is usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed at this stage. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as received, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be assessed and may result in additional charges. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as when collected; refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns could lead to further charges, so please inform us promptly if you expect to return the vehicle late. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during your rental period, along with a corresponding administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Information
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Comprehensive coverage specifics and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability, and we advise thorough review of these alternatives. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless additional insurance applies. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse is your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. Please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for precise information. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities in Wales
Prohibited uses of rental vehicle:
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or any dangerous maneuvers is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials is forbidden. Sub-letting or permitting unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, exceeding passenger or weight limits, or operating outside the agreed geographical area without permission is strictly prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by Welsh law, Car Hire accepts no responsibility for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may arise from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for the rental in the past year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
Governing Law in Wales
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the relevant courts in these regions.
